✨ Featured Maker: Louise Allen – Homemade Soaps
Behind Louise Allen – Homemade Soaps is an incredible woman with a heart for family, creativity, and doing things the right way. Keriann, the maker and owner, somehow balances handcrafted skincare, growing her own loofah sponges, homeschooling, and—because apparently she doesn’t sleep—opening a brand-new restaurant. We’re still not sure how she does it all, but we’re endlessly inspired by her.
The Meaning Behind the Name
Louise Allen isn’t just a name—it’s a family story. Louise is Keriann’s middle name, and Allen is the shared middle name of both her husband and their son. Family is at the core of everything she creates, so choosing a name that represents all three of them felt like the most natural choice.
How It All Began
The journey into soap-making started at home, when Keriann’s husband switched to bar soap to help soothe winter skin issues. Curious, Keriann began researching cold-process soapmaking and quickly discovered something surprising—many commercial “liquid soaps” aren’t soap at all, but synthetic detergents filled with harsh cleansers.
That discovery sparked a deep dive into learning, experimenting, and perfecting recipes using nourishing, skin-loving ingredients. What began as a way to care for her own family soon became a passion she couldn’t keep to herself.
Thoughtful, Honest Skincare
Every bar of soap, lotion, and product from Louise Allen is made with intention—using high-quality, natural ingredients and a whole lot of care. While handmade soap isn’t a medical treatment, many people notice a real difference in how their skin looks and feels when they switch to thoughtfully made, real soap.
Keriann believes skincare should be honest, gentle, and made with integrity—products you can feel good about using every day.
